Yesterday at the office was

Yesterday at the office was surreal. I wonder if it represented the week ahead... one can only hope. It was eerily quiet. I didn't see my boss but once in passing all day. People walked with their head down as if ashamed to even be there... of course, I could be imagining it all, but there was definitely a sadness in the air and I was relieved to see the day's end. As a new day starts, I find myself longing for the end of it and wishing it to be Friday. This is certainly no way to live your life. But hey... you gotta eat. Maybe if today is like yesterday, it will pass painlessly and that Friday will be a wee bit closer.

Last night was our first evening at home since all the wedding hustle and bustle began. We opted to stay in and vegetate on the couch before turning in early. EL and I had hand picked a couple of cases of great wine for the wedding and a few bottles left unopened found their way to the bar in our den when the dust settled. I opened one last night and we sat laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of what television has become. There are so many so-called reality shows that I truly have lost count. I don't care for any of them, but they obviously get ratings or they wouldn't be some popular. Since we don't have cable anymore, the only programming I like to watch is CSI. I'm talking about the Las Vegas one, not the cheesy Miami rip-off version. There should be clarification. EL got me hooked on that one. Otherwise, I'm not a TV guy. It was hell getting up this morning. The first full night's rest in your own comfy bed doesn't prepare you for the morning ritual of prying yourself out of your own comfy bed. I could have slept until noon... at least. Ugh! I ordered some miscellaneous camera stuff that I'm hoping will be here before the weekend. I needed an extra battery. I am going to test out the 500D with my macro lens and see what happens. I almost bought the Nikkor 5T instead, but went with the significantly less expensive Canon diopter. I ordered a set of Kenko extension tubes to experiment with and finally broke down and ordered a hot shoe mount external flash with an Omnibounce diffuser. I've been cursing needing an external flash for months and I figured I may as well just shut up and get one. I'm anxious to test.
