I took EL to Perry's Grille & Steakhouse last night. OMG. Amazing. The quality of food and service was probably the best I've had since I moved to Houston and it's 10000+ restaurants. I have had better food in my life, but the service rivals the best. A wonderful evening to be sure. I'm not sure what was going on with the weather yesterday, but it was whacko. One second everything is fine, the next it's black as night downtown in the middle of the day. I heard about this town in west Texas that received 3 feet of hail the other day. THREE FEET! Ouch. I was thrown into some unexpected meetings this morning, so my day is already compressed. I got a call about a 2 year job in Hawaii yesterday... fair weather year round, gorgeous living from dawn to dusk... yeah. I don't think I'm ready for that type of move. Anyhoo, here we go... meetings! w00t!
Not.
Clayton, have you tried the Ruth’s Chris in south Houston off of 59?
Yeah… We’ve been there. The steaks at Ruth Chris are better, but every other aspect of the dining experience at Perry’s was 150% better.
You should try it out.
:-)
We tried a Ruth’s Chris, not sure where. The food tasted great and I liked the low lighting. I didn’t like the ala carte style & it was a bit too noisy. It struck me as more of an upscale guy’s restaurant where you’re plate is nothing but the sizzling steak.
Perry’s Grille was wonderful. It was A+ on food quality/presentation, service & timing, lighting, quietness & on price. They even knew how to make a nice martini. I dare say, it tops the Fogo de Chao experience.
Wish I was still in Corpus to even try them out. By the way, don’t come to Utah. I think it bores even the natives. I had better wine selections in Port Aransas believe it or not.
Pappa’s Steakhouse is still the best.
Better than Fogo de Chao, are you sure, EL? :) ... Okay, I may have to check it out then.
