What a fabulous holiday. I’m

What a fabulous holiday. I'm not sure I understand how some people celebrate or don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but for me it's always been an uber-informal event. Friends, family, and food... no uppity anything. My mother and her boyfriend drove up from the coast with my grandmother and my sister drove in from the hill country. EL prepared some excellent accompaniment dishes while Bob made the turkey. He is a Turducken ninja, so in the same style, he made this deboned turkey with pork roast inside it. The last time I had one of his turkeys, he had filled the whole, deboned turkey with a whole, deboned chicken and then substituted sausage for the duck. When you slice it, there are distinct layers of carnivorous delight. I am a Meatasaurus Rex. We played games last night and got liquored up... all of us. I love drinking with the family. Y'all southerners know what I'm talkin' about. Today was a whole lot of work around the house. EL and Camron went shopping and errand running. Bob, Mom, and I worked on putting up some new sheetrock in the den and trimming trees in the yard. The tree guys quoted EL over $700 to do the job... um... no. My lazy ass heavy trash day guys won't take lawn rubbish unless it is boxed, so I have to find more boxes to contain the rest of the wood waiting to be chopped up. We did some additional Christmas shopping without straying too far form the house into the land of frenzied sale hunters. Tonight is probably a quiet evening... champagne, snacks, and movies. I hope the weather holds out so I can go snippety snap tomorrow. I'm tired. Thankful indeed, but tired.
