So I was just talking
So I was just talking with Joe about his trip to see ZZ Top on Saturday at the Summit/Compaq Center... he had 10th row center stage seats. It was a show to be seen given the bands history in Houston and especially that venue. They helped send the place off into the world back in the 70's and now they rocked out the final show before the stadium keys are turned over to the Lakewood Church and their 20,000 Kool-aid drinkers. Thus ends my bashing of organized crime religion. One only-in-Texas kinda thing that I thought was awesome was for the encore set, they played Sharp Dressed Man with a guest drummer... Gov. Rick Perry. Hehe. Regardless of how I feel about the Governor, that is pretty cool.
ZZ Top is so much better live than on album it’s not even funny. I was completely impressed when I saw them a couple years ago. If they could only capture the sound that came out of their guitars, holy howling humbuckers Batman.
