I worked from the house today. I was having computer problems and the weather has been miserable out, so my day wasn't exactly terrific. I started going through some old prints and found a few that I'll try to scan over the coming weeks. I am not a hunter and the very fact that you are seeing not one, but two photos of me wearing camouflage in 1 week is utterly amazing. The scanned Polaroid above is my childhood best friend (Rob) and I on a bird hunt with his father (the ominous shadow in the lower right). The photo below is one of my dear grandfather before he died. He was a great man that led a great life. I'm going to make a cocktail and head to bed early.

I have a copy of your Grandfather’s book that tells the story of the kids from the ‘hood and how they dug the pool in his backyard, one shovel at a time. I saw it many times, but only as a goldfish pond, not anything I would want to swim in! I remember he always had an awesome garden. As a child, when I would ride my bike down Tiner lane I would always admire his garden and hope to have one like it someday.
First, I can’t believe anyone even remembers “ed Dawn” so it’s verrry funny that titled that “Wolverines”
Second, your Gramps is soooooo cute.
No mistaking you as a kid! Great photo.
I don’t know if I ever told you this but your grandfather was my mother’s hero. Doc was their vet when she was a kid and he was doing surgery on her skunk to remove the stink. She was in the O.R. watching everything and all of the sudden the skunk quit breathing on the table. Your grandfather picked it up and started doing mouth to mouth...and brought the darned thing back to life. From that day on he was one of her heros....right up there with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. I can remember his desk when we would walk into his office...piles and piles of paper everywhere but what I remember most was the coral snake on his desk. I never got too close, but it was always neat to get to see it. I also got a good chuckle regarding the picture of you and Rob. Cute, very cute Chip.
