Let me tell you man, I’ve done a LOT of thinking about this.
I don’t know, I keep coming back to - reduce the yearly income, trade down to a job that gives meaning to my life.
I’d like to try my hand at war photojournalism. The pay I would think would suck unless you were a big name, but surely it would be enough, coupled with Steph’s income, to lead a decent life.
And seriously, how much more meaningful would such a job be? Opening people’s eyes to the atrocities in the world vs. pushing out web forms for the bourgeoisie class.
Oh, another angle I looked into was a sailboat delivery service.
There is a decent market for it - like, guy buys a 36 footer in Maine and wants it in Miami. You sail it there.
Need some pretty serious qualifications though for people to put their trust in you enough to do it, but you could use your time at sea to help you through a bunch of the certification processes.
Its something you could do with the lady too. Prolly would make about a 4th what ya do now though.
