It really sucks when your back home and all you want to do is sleep as long as you can in your own bed with your spouse and you just toss and turn and can't. I woke up at 4:00 and there was just no going back. This weekend's shoot is DFW was quite cool. I had a great time and learned a lot. It was an adventure. I have about 2.2GB of photos to sort through and process, but I randomly selected three last night before bed so I had at least something to post. Michael and I spent a lot of time with the bald eagles, so don't be surprised if you see a lot of eagle shots over the coming weeks. They were really magnificent. I need to get ready for work.
oh, and a couple more from this morning... this silverback was awesome! he kept beating his chest and giving us the one-more-flash-and-i'm-sticking-it-up-your-ass look:
this one is a serious crop because I couldn't get close enough with the 180 I was shooting with... hence the softness:

Stunning man!  I’ll be happy if I have one single shot like these :)

Great trip all the way around brother, lets do it again soon.

Thanks man… you know, I didn’t notice the blood on the eagles beak until this morning. Since we shot these around lunch and again in the afternoon, I wonder if the early shots were before he ate? LOL. I’ll have to go check tonight. The fu-man-chu monkey on the palm frond is soft as hell, but you should see the crop on that shot. It didn’t help that he was only about 5 pounds… smaller than my cat! The mandrill shot was rushed. I exposed before his jaw was fully open, so there was actually a better shot about a quarter second later that I missed… ahh, live and learn. I was so preoccupied with getting the teeth that I botched the focus a little. You should see Tom and John’s stuff… OMG. Unreal. Of these that I looked at so far, the silverback is my favorite… sharp as a tack and well balanced. I don’t care for the others so much, but it was a lot of fun regardless. I’ll be happy if one of those cheetah shots turns out. We had a blast taunting those guys! Anyhoo, maybe I can RAW convert a few more tonight. Thanks for the comment man… and yes, it was definitely fun!

Love the gorilla! That and the “woman scorned” are my favourites.
