I’m done.

And the priestess spoke again and said: “Speak to us of Reason and Passion.”

And he answered saying:

Your soul is oftentimes a battlefield, upon which your reason and your judgment wage war against passion and your appetite.

Would that I could be the peacemaker in your soul, that I might turn the discord and the rivalry of your elements into oneness and melody.

But how shall I, unless you yourselves be also the peacemakers, nay, the lovers of all your elements?

Your reason and your passion are the rudder and the sails of your seafaring soul.

If either your sails or our rudder be broken, you can but toss and drift, or else be held at a standstill in mid-seas.

For reason, ruling alone, is a force confining; and passion, unattended, is a flame that burns to its own destruction.

Therefore let your soul exalt your reason to the height of passion; that it may sing;

And let it direct your passion with reason, that your passion may live through its own daily resurrection, and like the phoenix rise above its own ashes.

I would have you consider your judgment and your appetite even as you would two loved guests in your house.

Surely you would not honour one guest above the other; for he who is more mindful of one loses the love and the faith of both.

Among the hills, when you sit in the cool shade of the white poplars, sharing the peace and serenity of distant fields and meadows - then let your heart say in silence, “God rests in reason.”

And when the storm comes, and the mighty wind shakes the forest, and thunder and lightning proclaim the majesty of the sky, - then let your heart say in awe, “God moves in passion.”

And since you are a breath In God’s sphere, and a leaf in God’s forest, you too should rest in reason and move in passion. - KG

I need to get away from here… move to another city with no forwarding address. I often wonder how difficult it would be to erase myself… remove every trace of Internetness that isn’t cached, get rid of emails, phone numbers, addresses. Disappear. They say the road to hell is paved with good intention. My new motto is “all apathy, all the time”. You could tell me it’s not a good decision, but ironically, I don’t care

I think a ‘round the world photo tour would do you some good. New perspectives and all. You might appreciate home again when you come back.

Or you might decide to do something else entirely.

I agree with Lisa.  This isn’t the first time you’ve stated this, so maybe you should pursue it.  As much as I love having you in my life, if getting out of it makes you happier, then so be it (ouch, heh).  But why live in misery?  If moving away will bring a brighter day, then go.  I’m not erasing my contact information and I’m sure no one else around here is either.  If you choose to come back around, then I’d be more than happy to hear from you, if not then I just have to hope you found what you’re looking for.  I don’t know who the hell I’ll find to tell me things as straight as you (as hard as it may be to hear them sometimes), who will make me laugh every time I see him, and who makes me want to better myself and my life just by pure example, but that’s my problem.  So if this is what you truly want, what you truly need, then do it.  You’ll be greatly missed, but your happiness is more important.  Do what you need to do.

I think you and I have some talking to do next weekend. It appears (on the surface of what is written here, natch) that you and I have mebbe encountered something similar.

I am expecting the unexpected. Kind of like a science experiment with the OOMPH of heart behind it.

It’s not a good decision.
