“I went to the woods
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan- like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms, and, if it proved to be mean, why then to get the whole and genuine meanness of it, and publish its meanness to the world; or if it were sublime, to know it by experience, and be able to give a true account of it in my next excursion."
Wrecks in the morning have become a common sight. It seems that not a day goes by that I don't witness some sort of traffic mishap along the route of my commute. It's really getting old. This lady felt the need to explain why the elevator was traveling so slowly this morning. "It's hydraulic," she said. Thanks. I appreciate the info. I'll file it with all the other useless crap that delays my mental lookup of perceived important information on a regular basis. Today is the big day for Henry, Éclair, Bianca, and Penny to go to grandma's house for a while. EL has a rendezvous with my mother in Victoria to break up the drive. I still can't believe that I'm not going to be a desk jockey for a full three weeks. It just hasn't settled in as fact. Granted, it's not all vacation, but even a business trip next month is not sitting in Houston watching the minions of Corponomics like an ant farm. I hate being one of those ants. Tonight is boys night out for Greg and I. He and I have had conflicting schedules for some time now and finally nailed down a time. It totally cracks me up to read archived shit. I wrote a lot more back then... a lot more. Irfan mentioned last night that I have become lazy here. Noted. I am full aware of my lack of letter leakage onto this page, but like I said last week, I'm going to stop posting so many pics and start posting more alphabet. I need to get back to caressing my coffee cup and get some work done this morning. Ugh! Mondays. The work week needs a facelift.
Have fun on your vacation, you lazy biatch ;-)
Ah! Thoreau.
Now, that’s the rub!.
