I was a little surprised

I was a little surprised to come around the bend in Allen Parkway and see a sea of reverse lights. Ahhhh yes. Flooding. I maneuvered to the exit ramp and went over the area that was partially submerged. There was a car half way under water and completely stalled at the basin. There are parts of downtown Houston that have received almost 4 inches of rain in the last hour. The Harris County Office of Emergency Management has a really cool website tool that charts rainfall over given time based on input from some type of SCADA device network around the county and then allows you to hyperlink to a dynamically fed chart of bayou levels and rainfall charts. If you live in Harris County, this site is worth linking. I tried to photograph the abandon car posing as a submarine, but I was not able to stop at the correct vantage point long enough to get a good shot. The office is quiet this morning. I'm busy trying to finish all my pending requests before our luncheon. There is a big vendor presentation today and they are catering. I dig free food almost as much as I dig free booze.
