I slept great despite working

I slept great despite working until almost midnight on a ridiculous work problem. You give someone all the tools they need to solve their own problems and practically lead them to the answer, yet they still want everything spoon fed. I love sleeping naked. I wonder what pitfalls lay waiting in the office... anticipating my arrival.

You should try being a TD sometime.  I’ve found, over the years of making pipelines to do various effects, that the more automagic you make something the more likely your end user will be dependent on the whole thing working without their interaction or brain cycles.

Remember those flying cars in 5th?  I had to create a default light setup because everything else was so automagic I had “artists” rendering out black cars and sending these off to crew dailies only to say, “that’s how they turned out.” When I asked, “did you add any lights to your scene?” I, invariably, got something like, “oh, I thought it did that by itself.”

Some people should be replaced with software.
