I missed the 70 and

I missed the 70 and ended up on the 2. I hate it when that happens. Houston needs a METRO system like Paris. I love that city. Wow... hate... love... must be time for more java. The office is a ghost town this morning. Everyone is either out sick, hurt, or on site somewhere. This is 90% good because it's quiet. I like quiet mornings. This is 10% bad because I'm the only engineer around to request assistance if needed. This might spoil my so-far-so-good quiet morning... we'll see.

yes....paris has a great transportation system...except the metro closes its doors no matter what is in the way...so during rush hour if you stand on the platform you can see jackets and bags stuck half way out the door.  oh the memories!!

I got all chewed out for calling any highway “the” when I came back to Texas.  That’s how everything was in LA...the 5...the 405...the 170...the 101...the 10.  Like they didn’t exist anyplace else or something.  I was promptly instructed to leave off the “the” or have the locals treat me like a tourist.

Is the “the” common in Houston?
