I have had a lot

I have had a lot to say here, but the truth of the matter is this: Blog spam sucks. I have received over spam comments in the last week and I can't keep up anymore. I don't know how much longer I'll even keep this damn blog... why do the spammers have to ruin it? Why?

I’m telling you, the first one reported killed by a group of anti-SPAM militants will curb this trend in a very marked way.

It’ll happen.

I’m with you on that. I used to run a website, and still see over 250 spam per day.  I now use a tool to wade through the bulk of it: it ran at over 800 a day for something like 2 years.  Really not a lot of fun…

It just boggles my mind that spam is still seen as a viable marketing tool.  That people are both getting rich and staying rich by doing it is astounding.  A) who are the idiots who keep paying the spammers to do it, and, B) who are the idiots who buy enough junk because of spam to keep the spammers fed with crap to spam???

Why is this more successful with consumers than click-thru and banner ads?  I don’t get it.  Are these the same people who buy hokey stuff at 3AM from paid programming?

There’s an awful lot of oxygen thieves running around with impunity.

There are tons of comment spam reduction methods. I’ve gotten my blog down to 0 spam now. I use a thing that does something with a hash or something in javascript. But I have wordpress, so that’s different. This smells like MT. There’s a ton of stuff for MT as well. Just google!!

Spammers screwed up my blog so that no more spam can be left in my comments. Still, I’m in an anti-comments phase at the moment.

SAD!  I get hit about once a month now, thanks to a couple of cool tools.  I’d hate to see you go, Clayton, but I understand if you do.

Spammers be damned to hell.

mt blacklist I’m tellin’ ya.  its easy to download/install, and even easier to run.  it’ll practically wipe out spam for you, and it’ll make it extremely easy to fix if you do get spammed.
