"All right ramblers, let's get rambling!" - Joe (Reservoir Dogs)
Greg sent me this link yesterday on lowercase sound. It's a digital movement that focuses on very quiet sounds and the long, empty silences between them. I've alway been interested in new forms of artistic expression and this is definitely a unique approach to expression through electronic music. It's a quick read with some links to MP3's... wear headphones or listen in a quiet environment or you'll be asking yourself, "What the hell is Clayton talking about?" My head is filled with coffee buzz this morning. This is an exquisite and rare experience for yours truly since my tolerance is unfortunately high. The stars must be smiling on me today. Has anyone seen Requiem to a Dream? Any opinions? I used to eat MilkBone dog biscuits when I was a kid. My grandfather was a veterinarian. I visited "PapaDoc" often and would feel bummed that the dogs would eat alone in these tiny little cages, so I'd prepare these little gourmet dinners (dry food softened with hot water or canned food, which the kennel dogs usually don't get) and bring MilkBone treats for desert and climb into these little cages with the dogs. I'd keep them company while they ate and then we'd roll up on some MilkBone goodness for desert. I'd like to think the effort was appreciated. Those things taste like ass... straight up. I really enjoy visiting Kara's site. I have no clue who this is, so there is no personal association there... but, reading her entries is like people watching at the airport (a very nifty pastime). When you're at the airport and you look across the room... observing gestures, facial expressions, subtle communications... or you overhear a snippet of a conversation but never catch the preface or the subject... you can let your mind wander and fill in the blanks. You can make up a new beginning and ending to surround the little piece that you know. You can make it outrageously fictitious or try to lay the new pieces out so that they fit your observance as closely as possible to your version of the facts (if you knew what they actually were). Reading her page is like that... you don't know if she writes about her personal experience in real life or if she is offering a imaginary vignette to consume. It doesn't matter really. It's just a good read... in my opinion, of course.

I felt like I was hit by a bus after seeing RFAD. Not saying that’s a bad thing, because I think it’s an amazing film. But not one I would want to watch often.
Oh, I keep meaning to mention this to you, but Pappa Doc (not your grandpappy) was the name given to the infamous president/ruler of Haiti back in the ‘70s/’80s. He used voodoo to keep people in line. I think his name was “Doc” something or other and by adding “Pappa” it means, literally, God Doc which further kept people from crossing him! Just a bit of useless trivia.
:)
You’re right about Kara’s site, bud. I like the simplicity and the creativity in the entries. I wonder if this person is a story teller or telling of herself in the third person. Either way, it’s very interesting reading and she’s an artist too...check out NakedGrief on her May 24th entry.
And I know who she i--is, la-la-la-lah-la-laah
:)
