Yummy breakfast tacos. I arranged

Yummy breakfast tacos. I arranged to keep the rental an extra day since I wanted to veg out and drive back later. I wanted to go into town today and buy some clothes... yay shopping! I'm not sure if Sean is up to it since we're out by Lake Travis (Lakeway). It's a long drive. There are tons of deer here... wandering peoples yards. Little spotted Bambi ones and their moms are the most prevalent. I love the Texas hill country. It's so much nicer that flat and brown coastland. I miss that about New York. I loved upstate at the base of the Adirondacks. Breathtaking scenery everyday... you only really miss it when you appreciate what you've lost. I suppose that's true about most things in life. Oops, the coffee cup is empty... ciao.

Dinner at Stub’s (great bar-b-que)

Dinner at Stub's (great bar-b-que) and then it was off and about in various places on 6th Street. We went to a couple of dance clubs, a live blues gig, etc. We also went back to Stub's because this Metallica tribute band from Chicago was setting up while we were there eating. Talk about a blast form the past! They were a lot of fun. Sean and I spent most of our evening talking and people watching up and down 6th. I'm so glad we are back in the same state again... he and I living 3000 miles apart just sucked. We had a truly e-X-cellent time tonight.

I am a bad bad

I am a bad bad man. I think I broke Sean. Sorry brother. I forget sometimes that not everyone is a professional drinker. But hey... I did go get you that chili dog, eh? Lazy day... movies, sun, relaxation... I needed this. I think I'll do this more often. I sat with Tim this morning and checked some rough edits of Xtracurricular. I liked everything I saw... very, very cool. I can't wait for the finished product. I'm not very wordy right now... my mind is drifting. I am so glad I came... everything I think about is not what I normally think about... if that makes sense. It's like a vacation without actually going anywhere... sorta. Oh well, I guess I'll go check on Sean.

The house is quiet. Tipsy

The house is quiet. Tipsy toe... shhhh! Something bit me in the armpit last night. It really hurts. That isn't the worst place I've been bitten, but it's close. Ouch! I need some breakfast. Tipsy toe around the house... big house... nice house... need to find the kitchen... shhhhh!

Ok. Sean and I are

Ok. Sean and I are a little tipsy. We went to Carlos and Charlie's tonight. The food sucked. I tried so hard to like it, but I just couldn't force myself. The drinks were flowin'... there was a cornucopia of alcohol presented tonight... shots ranged from Jager to Crown to Tuaca to Patron... margaritas, beer, blah blah blah... basically, dented liver. The band was good... the singer sucked ass. I felt bad for the guy. He tried, but just didn't meet the mark. The lead guitarist carried the other guys and the worst part of it all was how obvious it was... I love live music none the less. One perk to staying for the last set is watching completely obliterated drunks do stupid shit like try a new form of dance in front of you, the desperate horndogs trying to hit on women (this is the most amusing end-of-the-night people-watching pastime) because the night is closing and they are leaving alone, try to be sexy when they look like Gomer Pyle, etc. At first I thought it was just my typical easy amusement, but the truth is... anyone would find this shit hilarious. Poor guys. Sean and I talked a lot... we're good at that together. Our waitress was attentive for the most part, so she got a good tip. I have always been a "big tipper" for good service. I would like to say that it stems from values, but in reality, it probably comes from women that I have dated that waited tables. You gotta support yourself in some fashion. I remember being floored when I an ex told me once that she made $2.00/hr as a waitress (in VA) and that was standard. Amazing. I think we have some kind of bar-b-que scheduled for tomorrow, but I am not sure about times and attendance. We are sorta playing it by ear. I was going to sit at home and sulk this weekend, but Audra asking about a trip to Austin was like a little seed that grew and eventually I gave in... besides, I always love spending time with Sean. I'm sleepy now. Sweet dreams.

AHHHHHHHHHHH! The beans are pre-ground

AHHHHHHHHHHH! The beans are pre-ground for automatic drip. The filters are conveniently separated and placed next to the dispenser that provides pre-measured grounds... one little pull of this slot machine type lever and you're all set. How fucking hard is it!? Idiots! Fucking idiots! OMG! We are all going to perish. The human race is breeding itself to extinction. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! What is worse than leaving the coffee pot empty? I'll tell you. Attempting to make coffee and fucking it up so that the next person that makes coffee has to un-fuck your poor attempt at performing the single easiest coffee brewing maneuver ever devised by the human mind. A fucking monkey could do it. My dog could probably be trained to do it (except for that whole opposable thumb thing... but still...). AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Fuck this. I am going across the street to Starbucks and contributing to their unfortunate world domination. Please don't let me run into any of the sheep on the way to the elevator. FUCK!

What’s minimum wage in Texas

What's minimum wage in Texas these days? I would be willing to pay someone minimum wage to stand by the fucking coffee pot for 8 hours each day, Monday through Friday, and either ensure it's always contains coffee by making it personally or pouncing on the lazy bastards that take the last little bit and don't start a fresh pot. It would be entirely up to them... but if they chose the latter, I'd like them to film it. You can sell anything on the Internet these days.

Little Sin (Toadies) Swimming in

Little Sin (Toadies)
Swimming in pride, my sweet thing
It's such a pretty night for losing
Our innocence, Our tenderness
It's all been kissed away
And now you know you're a free soul
And you can't fight that little sin

Swinging your hips, you found out
It's easy as sin to put me down
Don't roll your eyes
Don't breathe a sigh
You're not so shy
So help me, now you know you're a free soul
And you can't fight that little sin

So hard to wait just for a kiss
Now we're the same, we're all regret
No tenderness
No innocence
It's all been kissed away
And now you know you're a free soul
And you can't fight that little sin
______________

Sean's got a short cinematography reel up this morning for X. If you have a high speed connection, check out Cold Call... a short film that he and Tim made "back in the day" (you'll need DivX and it's about 25MB). I am so sleepy.

I have been working on

I have been working on solving some EIGRP issues at work (if you are asking yourself, "what's EIGRP?"... don't sweat it... it's not worth explaining) and had a bunch of white papers and design guides to review, so I went to an excellent, quiet, secluded study environment... well, almost... the road to hell is paved with good intentions right? I ate steak over at Dirk's for dinner and ended up going to Baker's St. Pub because Harry was playing tonight. I got a booth and opened up the books... many (many, many) beers later, I felt like I actually accomplished something. I will probably judge my accuracy tomorrow. My head is swimming from text printed entirely too small chased by liquid bread. One thing that was extremely cool about this evening was that everyone (seemingly everyone) was from my generation there, so all the requests were 80's tunes and everyone sang along (except those of us trying to study :). Jimbo, I have no idea if you read this blog or not, but stop sending me reactor physics quizzes every Friday! (I used to be a nuclear engineer before I switched careers about 2 and a half years ago) They're not funny anymore! Ahhhhhhhhhh! I don't care about the average logarithmic energy decrement per collision anymore... stop it! Why don't you take your redneck ass somewhere and preoccupy yourself or something... leave me alone.

Ok… procrastination time is over.

Ok... procrastination time is over. I must go to the store. I am out of TP. I am out of beer. I have crumbs of food type ingredients left in the pantry. My refrigerator is nearly empty except for the science fair experiment that was milk. But I've reached the last fookin straw... I am about to drink my last can of Diet Coke. Replenishment is on the horizon. I have slipped into this rut. I like to cook, but not for myself. I see no point in putting forth the effort. I'd rather pay to have someone bring me food. I am 98.847% sure I am going to spend Friday and Saturday with Sean, but my life has gone anywhere but where I expected these last few weeks, so I am not going further than saying those plans are set in Jello. Eclair went to a friends house to go swimming. She's so cute. The "work day" is winding down and I have been relatively busy considering I was working from home. I think I'll enjoy this last Diet Coke and start some laundry. Doesn't that sound like a hoot? (I'm attempting to embrace southern culture and expand my vocabulary with native slang... yeehaw!)

So the ORKIN guy came

So the ORKIN guy came to the door and did his little inspection thing. He was trying to pressure sell me on a "flea package". My pets are hygienically sound... they are like my children. I don't need a flea package, thank you... "but sir, it's only $1,000,000.00 every two months". No thanks dude, but hey... the "hot light" is on at the Krispy Kreme. Roll out! On my way through the house after he left, I noticed the TV was on... MTV Cribs... crib of the day was Gene Simmons's place. Disgusting. Hugh Heffner pulls up in a stretch and gets out with 4 or 5 saline balloon girls with 5 foot fingernails and stilettos to deliver Gene's personal copy of Playboy magazine. I almost threw up. I remembered why I don't watch that show.

How does one tree turn

How does one tree turn into four? This guy is probably peddling my tree chips for mulch down the street and angling a better load. There is a very fine line between having "a day off" and "working from home". This started out as a day off, but after a couple of calls form the office and me being strapped to a VPN connection working at my home office, it is now officially a working from home day. This is my life.
